Now offering Face Painting!

Did you know we started offering face painting services in 2022?  You may be wondering, how does a wood working business get into face painting?  Good question!  It all stems from our interest in cosplay, and background in art and makeup, and having a daughter who, like many kids who is obsessed with face painting.
Traditional hand face painting
In 2021, we visited a local craft show and our then 4 year old daughter begged to have her face painted.  We were still deep in the pandemic, and we felt weird about letting her do it.  Elizabeth has a back ground in beauty makeup, and had some serious concerns about how sanitary face painters were. Many seemed to have limited brushes, and no way to sanitize between clients.  She decided then to acquire the supplies and face paint her daughter whenever she wanted.  Elizabeth knew she could take steps to keep the face paint and tools hygienic and it would be much safer.  She also had her makeup background to help her and many contacts in the industry who guided her towards the best products and tools.  Shout out to Elizabeth Rist and Mandy Paavola for always being willing to answer her questions.
Airbrush Temporary Tattoos
In 2022, after spending a year just catering to our daughter's whims, and using her as our canvas and offering services to friends, Elizabeth decided she was ready to start offering face painting as a business.  Jeff was interested in expanding Knot Head to include more of his hobbies unrelated to wood working, and KnotHead Origin was born.  Both Elizabeth and Jeff had experience with air brush painting, and ultimately decided adding air brush tattoos would not only be fun, it would be a way for them to offer a well round face painting experience.
Traditional face painting
In the summer of 2022 we began face painting professionally, with a focus in sanitation an hygiene.  We use clean brushes on every client.  All air brush stencils and tools are cleaned and sanitized while working either in our washing station or vie sanitizing wipes and alcohol.  We are also both fully vaccinated, and happy to wear a mask upon request.
To book us for your next event or party, please email us.  Parties start at $150/hr and include two artists offering traditional face paint and air brush tattoos.
